This
harness mount was developed in response to customer requests for a truss-style
harness mount for the Porsche 996 coupe. The new BK-1035 features water-jet
machined aluminum construction much like their BK-1025 harness truss. Like all
Brey-Krause harness mounts, the BK-1035 uses only existing mounting points. No
drilling, welding or fabrication is required for installation. Once installed,
the main portion can be unbolted in ten minutes, allowing use of the rear seats.
The BK-1035 been tested and certified by an independent lab to handle the types
of forces required by the National Highway Traffic Safety Admin. DOT and SAE
J385 Rev.MAR 95, Motor Vehicle Seat Belt Anchorages-Performance Requirements.
This harness mount bar properly locates and supports racing shoulder harnesses
relative to the driver. In the case of an accident, it helps protect the
driver's shoulders and spine. The harness guides also prevent excessive shifting
and fatigue of the driver during the high G loads of cornering and braking.
The
material is
6061 T-6 aluminum skeleton and type 304 stainless steel strut mount. Finish is
anodized aluminum skeleton with strut mount powdercoated in black wrinkle
finish. Fits 996 & 997 Coupe - Weight is 15.5lbs.
Installation is to the rear strut tops & seat belt mounting points and is easy
to remove/reinstall. For the 996 GT2 & GT3, the
BK-1031 adaptor kit must be used. For models with Bose rear deck mounted
sound system, use model
BK-1029 instead of model BK-1035.
